Evandro Gracelli is a guitarist and composer from São Paulo, Brazil. He made a huge impression when he first arrived on the Ottawa scene in 2009. His positive vibe and great musicianship made him a sought-after partner in Ottawa’s Latin and Brazilian music scene. Here in Canada, he maintains his musical connections with groups like Sol da Capital and Florquestra Brazil. In São Paulo, Gracelli has been performing with his quartet, which plays his originals a kind of brazilian jazz.

He has recorded one solo album, entitled “Urucum,” in 2004. More recently, he has participated on quality children’s music recordings: “Insetos no céu,” Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, which are introspective versions of iconic artists’ repertoire. Gracelli is a guest guitarist, arranger, producer, and composer on over 30 albums by various artists in Brazil. He holds a degree from the University of Campinas’s seminal Popular Music program, from 1993. He has been teaching guitar for over 30 years, and continues to inspire young composers and musicians.

Gracelli is currently working toward publishing a book of original compositions for flute, for Northern Press, with Ueli Döring, in Ottawa. He is also working on publishing a collection of original songs in São Paulo, which includes selections written with partner Rachel Beausoleil.
